Overview of the Testing Facility

    • Vision
    • - Building a testing facility that can be utilized for research and development in the fields of road planning and design, landscape, traffic management and safety, ITS and human factors, through reproducing various road and traffic environments

      - Building a testing facility with a driving simulator, enabling ergonomic road safety analysis and safety facility evaluation, and reviewing and improving existing roads and roads under design through 3D virtual driving

    • Main functions
    • - Utilized for establishing installation standards and ergonomic road safety analysis

      - Utilized as a preliminary assessment tool before building roads for user satisfaction

      - Possible to review drivers' comfort, route economic feasibility, landscape design, and other constraint factors in road designs during the design stage

      - Improving road safety through analyzing the cause of auto accidents in the roads with frequent accidents

    • Features
    • - Maximizing interaction between drivers, vehicles and roads

      - Drawing results from many tests that cannot be collected from real driving conditions

      - Possible to improve efficiency in road traffic management and safety

      - Possible to change test vehicles so as to evaluate road design factors and drivers' behavior for different types of vehicles in test environments

      - Possible to evaluate ride comfort through reproducing vibration from minor movements of vehicles depending on road conditions, through producing high frequency movements around 20Hz
